Shore Way Management didn't start as a business plan. It started as a genuine love for the North Shore — and a belief that property owners here deserved something better.
Rachel and Alex first came to the North Shore in the fall of 2011 as students at Gordon College. They didn't plan on staying forever — but the North Shore has a way of doing that to people. The rocky coastline, the tight-knit towns, the pace of life. After graduation, they didn't leave. They planted roots instead.
"We weren't looking to start a company. We were just trying to do right by our community and the property owners in it."
In 2019, Rachel and Alex purchased their first investment property in Gloucester and discovered their passion for real estate. They kept going — expanding their knowledge, their portfolio, and their understanding of the North Shore market town by town.
Our team handles the day-to-day so you don't have to — but Rachel and Alex are never far from the work. They're actively involved in the business, available by appointment, and you'll always know how to reach them directly if it matters.
Rachel leads operations at Shore Way Management, ensuring every home under management runs with consistency, precision, and a high standard of guest experience. She oversees onboarding, internal systems, and team execution — creating the structure that allows each property to perform reliably at a high level.

Alex leads the overall strategy and growth of Shore Way Management. He oversees revenue management, pricing strategy, and portfolio expansion — with a focus on maximizing performance across every property. His approach is grounded in data, experience, and a clear understanding of what actually drives results in short-term rentals.
Alex@shorewaymgmt.comRachel, Alex, their three kids — Noah, Drew, and Ella — and their dog Lucy call Annisquam home, a tucked-away coastal neighborhood in Gloucester where the harbor meets the sea. When we say we're a North Shore family business, we mean it in every sense. Lucy has never managed a property, but she's an excellent judge of character.
In December 2024, Rachel and Alex acquired The Ipswich Inn — a boutique 10-bedroom Victorian inn on the North Shore. Running a full inn alongside a managed portfolio isn't something most property management companies can say. It means the hospitality standards we promise our homeowners are the same ones we hold ourselves to, every day, in a property we own.

The same bar we set for every managed property
We live here. We know which vendor answers on a Sunday morning, which towns have strict permit requirements, and which streets have the best coastal light for listing photos. That local depth is something no national company can replicate.
You own the property. We manage it — but that relationship only works if you trust us completely. That means honest numbers, direct communication, and the same respect for your home that we have for our own.
Warm and local doesn't mean we're relaxed about results. We're #1 in this market because we work hard at the details — pricing, photography, guest experience — that most managers treat as afterthoughts.
